1990 Cabernet Sauvignon 6.0

RATINGS
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate (Dec. 1995) - 95 points
"The 1990 Cabernet Sauvignon (500 cases) is a blockbuster, opaque black/purple colored wine with great intensity, extraordinary ripeness and richness, and a huge finish with a softer style."
VINEYARD NOTES
Seavey's first estate-produced Cabernet, the 1990, was made from grapes that came from vines planted in 1982 and 1983 on five different locations of the south-facing hillside vineyard. In 1990, those five hillside blocks yielded only 1.5 tons of grapes per acre, which enhanced the concentration and intensity of the wine.
PRODUCTION NOTES
Winemaking style followed classic Bordeaux methods. Harvested at 24 degrees Brix, the juice remained in contact with the skins for an average of 15 days and, following malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for 30 months in French oak barrels (75% new oak) and then bottled in March 1993.
