"Good full, deep red with ruby tones. Sexy aromas of redcurrant, plum, tobacco and spices complicated by an element of dried flowers; varietally expressive and fresher than the 1991 and 1990 bottlings. Bright acidity gives the wine a distinctly firm, even hard, edge, but there's also good retention of sweet fruit and noteworthy mid-palate presence."

"The 1992 is considerably lighter than the 1990 and 1991. It also exhibits a more noticeable, herbaceous aroma, combined with a less saturated color. It is spicy and medium-bodied, with moderately hard tannin in the finish."
Seavey's third estate-produced Cabernet, the 1992, was made from grapes that came from vines planted in 1982 and 1983 in different locations of the south-facing hillside vineyard. Early budbreak was followed by a prolonged bloom induced by cool weather. June brought unseasonable rain, but worries of ill effects were erased by the warm, dry weather which followed and continued through the summer. The grapes were harvested during September, following high temperatures in August followed by a return to cool nights.
In making the 1992, William Seavey and Gary Galleron followed classic Bordeaux methods. Cabernet grapes from vines planted in 1982 and 1983 on the south-facing hills were harvested at 24 degrees Brix. The juice remained in contact with the skins for an average of 28 days, and, following malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for twenty-one months in French oak barrels (75% new oak) before being bottled on July 19, 1994.
